Custom Silicone Bracelets Fundraiser

Custom Silicone Bracelets Fundraiser

Custom Silicone Bracelets Fundraiser

Fundraiser bracelets are hugely popular among young people, particularly the custom silicone bracelets with a trendy slogan impressed in the rubber. Silicon wristbands come in every color under the sun, with bright vibrant colors leading the pack, but black and white are also big hits.

You'll see a pink silicone bracelet promoting breast cancer events such as Relay For Life while blue bracelets are hot with youth sports team like football or baseball teams. Church groups prefer the white variety with slogans like 'Got Faith' or 'WWJD?' (What Would Jesus Do?) among the best sellers.

With custom silicone bracelets, you can select your phrase, pick a color, and have several hundred available to sell within days. It really is a fantastic way to fundraise, particularly in conjunction with a well publicized event.

Getting started
You have three main decisions to make about your custom bracelets: what slogan to imprint, color choice, and supplier. Make the first two decisions before you start shopping for a distributor or wholesaler because otherwise it's hard to compare prices.

Catchy slogans work best as do vibrant colors. Get input from your target market by putting together a quick focus group and showing them your three favorite colors and then your three favorite slogans. then go with the best overall fit. Remember that orders have to be prepaid and you can't change your mind later!

As far as pricing, look for the big companies that give substantial price breaks. Most get under the $1 price point with an order of 300 or more, but there are also quality variations, so look for a reputable company that uses the best materials.

Bracelet quality tips
If you have enough lead time, get samples from your top three supplier choices and compare them for thickness and overall quality. There should be no vertical seam visible where the ring was joined and the beveled edges should feel smooth to the touch.

The depth of the imprint (debossing is the technical term) is important as the slogan won't be clearly visible if it's not done correctly. Also, the rubber should not have a lot of elasticity, i.e. it shouldn't feel all stretchy like a rubber band.

So, choose the supplier with thick bracelets, smooth edges, no seams, and imprints that are crisp and clear. After all, you can't do well with fundraiser bracelets that are cheap junk!

Making sales
Obviously, you can easily make sales within your group or at your fundraising event. Just set up a table adjacent to the entrance and support it with large colorful signs explaining why you are raising funds and what the prices are.

The job of your posters and signs is to presell the customers as they approach, so make them easy to read from a distance. Don't be shy about stating your price. For instance, if your fundraiser bracelet is raising money to send personal items to troops overseas, put up a big sign behind your table that says 'Support Our Troops! Just $2.00' and have a large bracelet making a ring around the poster.

Another great way to make sales is to setup a sales table at high-traffic retail locations like grocery stores, drug stores, home improvement stores or Wal-Mart. Be sure to get permission from the store manager well in advance!

Position your sales table and signs the same way with a big sign on the wall behind you and a smaller one hanging from the front of the table. Shoppers are focused on what they are after inside the store, so again, your signs main job is pre-selling the customer as they approach. Plus, it saves you from having to repeat the same things over and over to every potential customer.

Silicone bracelets summary
There are many styles and colors to choose from when selecting a silicon wristband to sell, so take some time to get input from several people before making your choice. Quality sells, so be sure to pick a quality supplier who uses first-class materials as well as offering low prices.

Sell your fundraiser bracelets at your event and within your group, but don't forget to make sales at high-traffic locations. By offering them to the general public you can double or triple your sales, plus you can get a much better price break by ordering a larger quantity.

COPD, How Did I Get It And What Can I Do Now

The Doctor says I have COPD
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a fast growing affliction amongst Americans. If you have been diagnosed as having COPD you know how devastating it can be. Your quality of life deteriorates as you no longer are able to do simple task that involves physical movement. Its true that COPD will slow you down but chances are, it will not lead to your demise.

What is COPD anyway? Your airways branch out inside your lungs like an upside-down tree. At the end of each branch are small, balloon-like air sacs. In healthy people, both the airways and air sacs are springy and elastic. When you breathe in, each air sac fills with air like a small balloon. In COPD, your airways and air sacs lose their shape and become distorted, like a stretched-out rubber band that wont retain its original shape. In short, COPD is a disease that effects the lungs in which the air passages have become partially non functional. It is not reversible or curable but it is treatable. Included in the family of diseases that make up COPD is emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Asthma is not COPD as it is caused from allergies but over a long period of time it may develop into COPD.

Where did it come from?
I contacted Asthma in nineteen seventy two when I moved from Southern California to New Hampshire. I had no idea moving to a different climate would result in breathing problems but it did and here I am thirty six years later, with COPD. Quite frankly it sucks and anyone who says different probably does not have it. Not being able to breathe is frustrating as you feel like you can do anything but can not. You can not have normal relations with your spouse, grandchildren or the environment. No more intimate interludes, long walks, swimming or any moderately strenuous activities.

COPD is more common than you might think.
As our environment deteriorates breathing problems increase. One problem is it goes unrecognized in many cases as it gets attributed to seasonal allegories or having the flu. A sad fact is there are 24 million people in the United States with some degree of impaired lung function yet only 12 million have been diagnosed with COPD. People can not take charge of their breathing if they dont know they have a problem. A symptom cannot be treated unless it is diagnosed as a viable, treatable condition.

How could I know?

What are the signs of COPD.

Mild COPD is when:
You feel a little short of breath after working hard or after strenuous exercise. (like jogging, doing yard work or climbing stairs)

You cough often resulting in spitting up mucus.

Moderate COPD is when:
You run out of breath when walking up a hill.
You have trouble doing common chores like walking the dog or taking out the garbage.
You cough frequently resulting in extricating mucus.
You need a few weeks to get over the flu or a lung infection.
You have to cut back on activities you have always enjoyed.

Severe COPD is when:
You get short of breath during low energy activities like showering or getting dressed.
You are not able to work or take part in simple activities you have always enjoyed.
You need an extended length of time to get over a cold or lung infection.
You experience labored breathing day and night.

Some people with severe COPD may need oxygen therapy.

I had no idea
Many people with COPD know what their condition is but dont do anything about it until they have lost a lot of their lung function. People tend to contend with their affliction by adjusting. They become less active which is likely to accelerate their condition without proper treatment. Because COPD usually occurs slowly, people become accustom to their condition. The people they are in contact with dont realize the magnitude of the ill persons difficulty and are apt to inject toxins into the afflicted persons environment. This results in an even greater stress being brought to bear upon the person with COPD. Clean, fresh air is difficult enough to breath without being contaminated by aerosols or other toxic products. What is normal to a normal person could be toxic to a person with COPD.

Its not over yet
All is not lost. With proper medications, a person with COPD can live a functional, somewhat average life. You may not be able to play football but you can cheer from the sidelines. You may not be able to dance with the stars, but you can enjoy watching as they dance. Its a matter of keeping a good attitude and accepting your limitations. COPD will slow you down, but then, growing old will also.

If you have a history of smoking or working in a contaminated environment, are over forty and have shortness of breath, you should see your doctor. The doctor will probably do a lung function test to measure the elasticity and capacity of your lungs.

The Calvary is on the way
Today, many things are available to help people manage their COPD. First of all like any disease, get a diagnose early. Next it is important that you and your family learn about the disease and the changes in lifestyle you have to make. The drugs your doctor will prescribe will help open your airways and allow you to breathe easer which will reduce the risk of any complications.

Adjust and enjoy what you have
COPD, like heart disease, can be a wake up call to a healthier lifestyle. Take better care of yourself, get rid of stress, if you are a smoker, now is the time to quit. Work with your doctor to prevent or reduce the likelihood of exacerbations, or worsening of your symptoms. Start a limited exercise program. Dont overdo it, but do it with prudence.

Thats about it. Life is full of change, adjustments and difficulties. COPD is the lesser of many thing that could happen. Dont give up, simply adjust.

Happy Trails

Common Causes, Injuries, and Factors in Head-On Collisions

Head-on collision car accidents frequently cause serious injuries, and can be quite deadly. In fact, it is estimated that 10% of all fatal crashes in the United States are the result of head-on collisions.

When you fall victim to a serious car accident, it can be hard to know where to turn. Many concerns press in all at once, including severe injuries, medical bills, and pushy insurance adjusters calling to get you to settle quickly for less than you are owed.

If you or a loved one has experienced injury or loss due to a head-on car accident in, then you should contact a local car accident attorney. Experienced car accident lawyers can help sort through the confusion surrounding a devastating car accident to determine the best course of action.

Why are head-on collisions so likely to cause injury and death?

Head-on collisions are particularly deadly because of the tremendous impact generated by the two vehicles coming from opposing directions.

The laws of physics come into play in car accidents that involve two automobiles in motion while colliding. The overall force of the collision is multiplied by the speed of both cars, resulting in unfortunate losses and injuries for the occupants of both vehicles.

About 42 percent of the drivers killed in head-on car accidents had good driving records, according to statistics from the National Safety Council.

Common Injuries Due to Head-On Collisions

Injuries are frequently caused from the initial impact of a head-on collision. Due to the force and inertia of the initial blow, there are often additional injuries caused from subsequent impacts. Common injuries from head-on collisions include:
Cuts from broken glass;
Serious back injuries;
Severe neck injuries;
Head and traumatic brain (TBI) injuries;
Broken and fractured bones;
Burns and soft tissue abrasions.

Common Causes of Head-On Collisions

Here are the factors behind most head-on collisions, according to data collected by the National Safety Commission:
63%: Drivers distracted by other things, or those failing to fully observe traffic signals (such as stop signs and red lights).
20%: Areas where vision of road is obscured (e.g., curves), or instances when a speeding driver veered into the opposite lane.
6%: Drivers passing inappropriately.

Don't deal with a serious car accident alone. When going to bat against insurance companies with agendas that may not include your best interests, working with an experienced car accident attorney with the knowledge and expertise to fight for the compensation you deserve can make all the difference.

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio's job became harder Saturday after his Spartans polished off 1-AA Montana State, 44-3, but it also became sweeter.

It became harder because 1-AA Montana State is a far cry from the opponents the Spartans will face as they work their way through Big Ten competition in the weeks ahead. Playing a 1-AA team was a big deal for the Spartans because it was the first time in school history they had faced such an unevenly matched team.

Dantonio's job became sweeter because his two sophomore quarterbacksKirk Cousins and Keith Nicholboth looked good in their bid to become the starting QB to replace Brian Hoyer, now a backup QB for the NFL's New England Patriots. When watching Hoyer play last year, he was inconsistent, but he was also apparently good enough to try competing at the next level.

Michigan State had a huge question mark in who would replace Hoyer. Both Cousins, who goes 6-3 and 202, and Nichol, who goes 6-2 and 215, split time under center and looked good.

Cousins went 10-for-17 for 183 yards, and had 3 touchdown passesa 29-yarder to sophomore B. J. Cunningham, a 15-yarder to senior Blair White, and another 24-yarder to White.

Nichol went 9-for-18 for 135 yards, and had 2 touchdown passesa 26-yarder to freshman tight end Dion Sims, and a 3-yarder to sophomore tight end Brian Linthicum. Sims goes 6-5 and 268; Linthicum goes 6-5 and 245.

Michigan State's passing game looks both young and effective at the moment. The question now is: can they do it against much better competition in the heat of Big Ten play?

Another big question mark is who would replace Spartan All-American running back Javon Ringer. Ringer, who was drafted by the NFL's Tennessee Titans, ran 390 times as a senior, gaining 1,637 yards and scoring 22 rushing touchdowns. He led the nation in carries, touchdowns and scoring, and was 4th in rushing yards. Ringer accounted for 97% of Michigan State's rushing yardage last year.

Against Montana State, redshirt freshman Caulton Ray had 12 carries for 71 yards (5.9 yards per carry), freshman Larry Caper added 34 yards on 7 carries (4.8 ypc), and freshman Edwin Baker added another 27 yards on 8 carries (3.3 ypc).

Senior Blair White had impressive numbers with 9 receptions for 162 yards and 2 TDs.

The Spartans led 28-0 at the half, and rolled up 493 offensive yards to 160 for Montana State. Michigan State's star linebacker, junior Greg Jones, had 14 tackles; he is arguably he best linebacker in the Big Ten.

The game was Michigan State's home opener. Montana State will receive at least $650,000 for traveling to East Lansing for an almost certain first-game loss, but the payday will be enough to pay nearly a third of Montana State's annual football budget. The Spartans host Central Michigan at home Saturday.

There was only one real upset in college football's 8th week of play as 12 of the 20 top-ranked teams put on their muscle shirts and showed what they have, a sure sign that teams have begun to stabilize for their last 4 games.

Only 21st-ranked Texas Tech was caught flat-footed at home by unranked Texas A&M, 52-30. The Red Raiders (now 5-3) were favored by 22 and lost by 22, a 44-point negative swing that sent Texas Tech reeling. The Texas A&M Aggies meant business, piling up a 38-22 lead after 3 quarters, and then outscoring the Red Raiders 14-8 in the 4th quarter.

Texas A&M was trounced 62-14 last week by Kansas State and decided to take it out on Texas Tech. The high score was no real surprise; both teams came in as scoring machinesTech was ranked 2nd nationally at 41 ppg, and A&M was 19th at 33 ppg. A&M piled up 559 yards of offense and Tech 520; the contest was strictly offensive with a combined 1,079 yards of offense. Exciting, but not good football.

One other upset occurred when unranked Clemson hung in and hung on for a 40-37 overtime upset of 8th-ranked Miami (FL) on the Hurricanes' home field. Miami (now 5-2) was favored 5. Kyle Parker threw a 26-yard scoring strike to Jacoby Ford to win the game. It was big deal for Clemson because the Tigers have been toothless for some time. The win was Clemson's first in 9 tries over ranked teams, and its first win over a Top 10 foe in more than 8 years.

Here are the 7 of 12 teams that put on their muscle shirts looking for more BCS poll support by dominating their opponents in away games:

No. 3-ranked Texas (7-0) over Missouri 41-7, 6th-ranked Boise State (7-0) over Hawaii 54-9, 10th-ranked Texas Christian (7-0) over Brigham Young 38-7 (TCU was favored by 2.5 and won by 31), 11th-ranked Georgia Tech (7-1) over Virginia 34-9, 13th-ranked Penn State (7-1) over Michigan 35-10, 14th-ranked Oklahoma State (6-1) over Baylor 34-7, and 25th-ranked Oklahoma (4-3) over 24th-ranked Kansas 35-13 (this was not an upset as the Sooners were favored by 8 an won by 22).

Three other away game victories by ranked teams were less dominating.

No. 2-ranked Florida (7-0) led Mississippi State 16-13 after 3 quarters and then outscored the Bulldogs 13-6 in the final quarter to win 29-19. The victory was Florida's 17th straight, the nation's longest winning streak. Gator Tim Tebow threw two interceptions for touchdowns; Mississippi State's Johnthan Banks ran one back for 100 yards and another for 20 yards.

No. 7-ranked Iowa (8-0) used a last play 7-yard TD pass by Ricky Stanzi to Marvin McNutt to come-from-behind against Michigan State 15-13. The Spartans had successfully defended 3 downs and led 13-9 before the last play. Iowa has now won 12 straight dating back to last season, the second-longest streak in the nation.

The Hawkeyes are becoming a bigger deal nationally because they have won more close games than a pack of termites at a timber feast. Seven of their 8 victories have been by 11 or fewer points, including 1, 2 and 3-point victories over Northern Iowa, Michigan and Arkansas. Last year Iowa lost 4 games by a combined total of 12 points. The Hawkeye defense has 15 interceptions this year and 9 fumble recoveries.

No. 14-ranked Oregon (6-1) got a lot of help from Washington in its 43-19 victory, which might have appeared more dominate than it actually was. The Huskies managed to let a rusher go untouched on a punt attempt that was blocked and resulted in a loose ball in the end zone that Oregon recovered for a TD. While Washington was rushing to get into position for the extra point, the holder ran it in for a 2-point conversion.

Another Husky drive that should have been a touchdown became a field goal, and another Husky drive ended at 2nd-and-goal and Washington could not get it in as Jake Locker threw an interception on 4th down and the Huskies came away with nothing. Oregon would rush for 259 yards and Washington could not stop them.

Here are the 5 of 12 teams that put on their muscle shirts looking for more BCS poll support by dominating their opponents in home games:

No. 5-ranked Cincinnati (7-0) over Louisville 41-10, 9th-ranked Louisiana State (6-1) over Auburn 31-10, 17th-ranked Houston (6-1) over Southern Methodist 38-15 (Houston led 31-3 after 3 quarters), 18th-ranked Ohio State (6-2) over Minnesota 38-7, and 20th-ranked Pittsburgh (7-1) over South Florida 41-14.

Five other home game victories by ranked teams were less dominating.

Least impressive was 1st-ranked Alabama's block of a 44-yard field goal on the last play of the game by the Tide's 350-pound nose guard Terrence Cody to preserve a 12-10 lead and victory over the unranked 3-4 Tennessee Volunteers. The blocked field goal by Cody, now dubbed "Mount Cody", was his second of the game. The Crimson Tide (now 8-0) came into the game ranked No. 1 in total defense; Alabama's offense, which averaged 34 points a game coming in, got all of its points on 4 field goals by Leigh Tiffin, including a 49-yarder and a 50-yarder.

No. 4-ranked Southern California was lucky to get by the unranked 4-3 Oregon State Beavers. A 63-yard punt return by Damian Williams in the 4th quarter and a late drive that bailed out the USC defense saved the day as the Trojans outlasted the Beavers, 42-36. Southern Cal was ranked 9th in the nation in total defense, but its scoring defense was ranked 41st (the Trojans were giving up 30 points a game). Now you know why USC is beyond lucky to be ranked No. 4 in the country. Think about it, the Trojans gave up 36 points to a 4-3 Oregon State team. The Beavers were the only team to beat USC last year, and they did it at home 27-21.

No. 19-ranked Utah (6-1) went lame in a 23-16 victory over a 4-4 Air Force team. This is not the same Utah team that went 13-0 last year as the only undefeated team in the nation, and then took down Alabama 31-17 in the BCS Sugar Bowl. Utah still must face major opponents in Texas Christian (7-0) and Brigham Young (6-2).

No. 22-ranked West Virginia (6-1) needed a 56-yard touchdown run by Noel Devine in the closing minutes to get by Connecticut, 28-24, and 23rd-ranked South Carolina (6-2) keep a weak 2-6 Vanderbilt team at bay long enough to win 14-10. The 15th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies were idle this week.

Here are two unranked teams still on the move and hoping to get ranked. Central Michigan (now 7-1 and getting more impressive every week) beat Bowling Green 24-10, and Navy (6-2) beat Wake Forest 13-10.

Nebraska, which I publicly identified as a fraud in last week's wrap-up, lost again, this time to Iowa State 9-7 in what sounded like a scrum match. The Idaho Vandals, who had been flying high at 6-1, got crushed by a 4-3 Nevada team, 70-45. Ouch, that was some crash landing; nonetheless, the Vandals are still 6-2 and bowl eligible.

Tell Rudy to crank up that typesetting machine, this wrap-up is finished (just for the record, you have to be at least 65 years old to use the noun typesetting in an article like this; we do it primarily to confuse younger people between downing shots of Jameson).

Coaching Youth Football - Offensive Line Drill

When planning who my blockers are I utilize this pop warner football drill. I should say, I have my offensive line coaches perform this test. It is a classic test participants block against the instructor was clutches a blocking pad. Every child starts out in a three point stance straight in front of the manager. The coach exhales into the whistle, or shouts a cadence and the participant strikes the pad with as much force as he can and thrust blocks the coach. The instructor will maintain his position while letting the player push him easily. The coach yells out a number giving that player a ranking. We use a range of 1 (weak) to 10 (strong). The children then go to the end of the line and wait until it is their turn again.

You will detect rapidly that a competition will commence among the lids as they start questioning to each other "What was your score from coach?" All of a sudden there is a competition where each kid is trying to out perform one another.

Similar to the Iron man drill, you recognize which players continue to work harder to improve their ranking while other kids lay back and quit trying since they do not like to compete against other kids. As a teacher you need to make every player feel special and find a way to have them feel important to the team. You must pay attention to the weaker kids by giving then just one duty. All coaches should assist these players in helping them specialize at it. As time passes these kids will execute that skill relativity good.

You are a manger, instructor and teacher of youth football, not High School, college or the Pros. Your task is to make certain all kids, particularly the delicate kids do not get an attitude and decide not to play. Please maintain clear-cut notes making sure the delicate kids attitude is positive.

Every athlete is required to start this drill with a proper three point stance.

Another usual inquiry is if the pee wee football players should be taught to block using their hands or using the shoulder pads. Every player should be exposed to each fashion since separate situations may need different types of blocking. The individual participant may find one style easier than the other.

You will discover your best runners, throwers and blockers are always the identical players. This is grand since all players have to block at some time throughout a football game. Also, depending on the offense you set up the running backs and split ends will be required to perform significant blocks.

Christian Youth Speaker Horror Stories and How To Avoid Them

Christian Youth Speaker Horror Stories and How To Avoid Them

Christian Youth Speaker Horror Stories and How To Avoid Them

I just got off a conference call that led me to get this article out there. The folks that are bringing me in to do a large regional rally (expecting 3000 teens) were suffering form "speaker paranoia". They wanted to make sure I was not going to do some of the negative things "the previous speaker" did. "Speaker Paranoia" is directly related to a previous bad experience with a former speaker. I call these phenomena, "Youth Speaker Horror Stories'. The tragedy is that most of these misadventures could be avoided with clear communication prior to the event. Not all the horror stories I hear are the speakers fault. Let's look at some of the most common missteps and how they can be avoided.

"The last speaker went fifteen minutes over his time" I hear this a lot. My response is, "Did you tell him his time? Did you make sure he understood it was important?" If you tell a speaker he has "around an hour" then don't be surprised if he goes 69 minutes. "Around" is a subjective term. It's much better to say, "You have 60 minutes form the end of the intro." Also, remember that speakers travel form culture to culture. I do some events where the sponsor and promoter had no time requirements and some where I'm handed an itinerary that is broken down in seconds. You have to make clear what your expectations are. When things get off schedule (as they often will at youth events) you must communicate specific adjustments to the speaker. You told him a week ago he had an hour, but half way through your program, you are thirty minutes behind schedule and you can't go over because the parent/bus drivers will get upset. You've figured out how much to shave off each speaker/band in order to get back on track. So you ask you speaker to "shave a little off" his presentation. He takes five minute off, you needed fifteen. In his mind he has done what you asked. In your mind, "he went over". Be very clear with time expectations. Most speakers will not go over. Another very simple solution is to have a volunteer with time cards in the front row. The cards go from five minutes to 0. This way the speaker gets a five minute warning. When the last card comes up, he needs to wrap up.

"The last youth speaker we had ran up his expenses." Once again (you will notice a theme here) did you make your expectations clear? Did you use a contract and did that contract spell out what expenses your organization covers? I do not require a rental car, strawberries in the green room, a five star hotel or jelly beans with all the green ones picked out. But I've heard stories. So it's best to ask up front. Travel reimbursement can lead to "horror stories". I book my own tickets and have the host reimburse me. From what I understand, this is a common approach. Why won't most speakers let you buy the tickets for them, hence giving you more control over price? The answer has to do with the way we live. It's a rather nomadic and complicated lifestyle. We string cities and tours together. Our calendars change. If you book your youth speaker a round trip ticket form his home city and he books a show the day before yours, the money you spent has been wasted because he now needs a ticket form the city he will be in, not the city he lives. If you are nervous about how much the ticket will cost, ask your speaker to put a ceiling on it. For those on a tight budget or concerned about flight costs, I put into my contract, "Freedom Entertainment (that's me) will book round trip airfare and will invoice host for reimbursement, ticket costs will not exceed 350.00 (in this example)"

"The last youth speaker we had did/did not do an alter call" Did you make your expectations clear? This is not something that you put on a contract; this is something that you discuss. I work with many different Christian denominations. For some of the organizations that hire me, an alter call is a weekly event, while others have never seen an alter call. I know that now. But I didn't know that when I first started touring nationally. I thought it was a given that I would do an alter call. Unfortunately, on this one, I contributed to the "horror stories" portfolio. If you expect your speaker to do an alter call, share that with him and if you do not want the speaker to do an alter call, share that with him also, preferably before the day of the event.

"The last youth speaker hid in his cabin between presentations" Like the above, this is something that should be discussed. Some youth speakers view their job as speaking and that's it. So if they do a great job speaking multiple times form stage during a camp or retreat, in their mind they are doing a great job. If you expect your youth speaker to eat with the kids, play the games, and make themselves available during "off stage" times, you have to let them know...before you sign the contract. This is the way I roll at camp; I hang out with the kids and often teach apologetics between touch football games. Once a year I come home from youth camp injured, and I've promised my wife, no more "touch" (it always ends up being tackle) football. I'm conformable with this type of intensive ministry. Some very gifted youth speakers aren't. If you let them know you expect them to be "available all weekend", they can decline gracefully. If you don't let them know, you end up with a "horror story".

You should be able to focus your energies on building a life changing Christ centered event. Worrying about what your speaker may your may not do will not be a problem if you communicate expectations in a clear and specific manner. Youth speakers are youth speakers because they feel called by Christ to serve youth. Help them serve Christ and the teens they feel called to minister to by making your expectations obvious prior to the day of the event.

Childrens Lighting for a Safe and Happy Kid's Room

Lighting plays a key role in making our homes safe, functional and comfortable and this is especially true when children are involved. For childrens lighting, you need to create a mix of illumination that's both bright enough to be safe, soft enough to be relaxing and create a cosy ambience for sleep, and focused enough to allow them to read and do homework without eyestrain.

In fact, children's lighting involves the same basic three types as for any form of home illumination -ambient, accent and task. The good thing is that you have more options, and they tend to be more colourful and fun. First, let's look at ambient lighting.

Ceiling lighting is usually the most fundamental source of ambient illumination. When it comes to ceiling lights for children, your two main choices are fitted lights which may be flush or recessed, or pendant lights which hang down.

Your choice will depend on the height of your ceiling and the amount of installation work you want to do. Flush ceiling lights take up minimal space and come in a wide array of designs for children such as sky motifs.

Pendant childrens lights also come in a wide range of themes from such favourite topics as sports, music, and cartoons. Both the lamps themselves and their shades are available in a vast range of richly decorated styles. You'll need to take your own children's' tastes and interests into account when choosing designs for their lighting. For your son's bedroom you could choose pendant lighting in the shape of a rocket or a football. For you daughter, perhaps you might opt for the motif of a young princess or butterflies floating above.

For younger children it's a nice idea to install lighting with learning value. You can get lights which are both attractive and educational such as abc lighting is a rich array of colours.

Another option for ambient light is to use all wall sconces. These come in a wide range of styles for children. For example, there are silver rocket sconces for little boy's rooms.

Accent lighting to highlight a special feature is likely to be less important for children. Perhaps you could use a ceiling mounted spot or track light to light up a poster of a favourite movie star, singer or footballer, or another special part of the room.

Other than creating a cosy atmosphere for your kids to relax, you also need to install task lighting to allow your children to enjoy their hobbies, do homework and read comfortably. Older children can use standard desk lamps though for younger ones you might prefer spotlights affixed to the ceiling for safety. If several youngsters are sharing one room, you need to make sure that each has adequate lighting that doesn't disturb the other. You can do this through the use of adjustable lighting and dimmers.

Safety is of prime concern when it comes to lighting for younger children. Not only should illumination be sufficient to carry out all activities easily but you also need to be careful about things like the type of lights and their positioning. For example, table lamps can be pulled over and are potentially dangerous to very young children. The electrical wires have to be properly installed so that they are out of harm's way. Older children, of course, can safely use any type of lighting including desk lamps.

For very young children in a nursery, you can install night lights to provide a soft illumination all night and be a source of comfort should the child wake up during the night.

Other than illumination for your kids' rooms, you can also install outdoor childrens lighting. These can transform your garden into a magic area. Popular are decorative pebble, cone, star and ball lights along with illuminated chairs.

When it comes to lighting your child's room, you have a rich array of options which allows you to be truly creative. You can use a mix of lamps, colored light bulbs and a variety of illumination sources including sconces and lowlights, as well as ceiling lights. The best way to see what childrens lighting is available is to visit the web sites of online vendors. Here you'll not only find the widest variety but also the best prices in the UK.

Can I Sue For Getting Hurt While Playing a Sport

Many of us are not pro athletes. In fact...most of us aren't. That means the sports we play come in between jobs, family, household chores, and a number of other responsibilities.

That being the case, we can hardly be shocked when injuries occur during non-routine activity. The body needs time to acclimate itself to new stresses, and sometimes we aren't able to properly prepare ourselves. Furthermore, many sports come with an inherent and accepted risk that bodily harm could potentially occur.

Despite that, there are times when extenuating circumstances could have been avoided, or a fellow player took exceptionally aggressive actions against a person. In some of these instances where injury occurs legal rights to sue may be possible.

This article will explore the times when suing may or may not be a valid response to sport injury.

Common Instances When Suing is Not An Option

It's no shock to hear that most sport injuries occur in aggressive sports. Games like football, rugby, and Mixed Martial Arts come with a very obvious and accepted risk. When injury occurs in these sports, it is often confined within the rules of the game.

For example, if a neck sprain occurs during a tackle in football, there will be very little chance to sue the tackler for his actions. Even if the hit is seen as 'cheap' or against the rules, often nothing more can be done than an in-game penalty.

Another example is a broken limb or nose during martial arts training. Often these schools will have parents or practitioners sign a liability waiver which serves as an acceptance of potential injury. Like in the football example, the offending party may have gone beyond the scope of safety, but it is frequently difficult to prove that the action was malicious or excessive beyond the confines of the sport.

Accidents are rarely cause for legal recourse. A golf ball to the chin, a baseball being fouled off into the crowd, etc are generally not considered viable lawsuits.

Instances When Suing May be an Option

So if most sport injuries are not fit for legal action, what could be pursued?

The major determining factor for this is if the offending party went outside the bounds of the sport in order to injure the victim. For example, if a football player were to grab a chair from the sidelines and begin to beat an opponent with it, that would certainly be cause for recourse.

Anything that occurs off the field of play is also open for consideration. If a wrestler attacks a fellow wrestler outside the confines of a match, it could be considered assault. The same goes for martial arts. If a boxer loads his gloves with sharp or solid objects to hit his opponents with, that is outside the confines of the sport and could be pursued legally.

Determining Your Case

If you are trying to decide if an incident is right for legal action, first ask yourself if it was aggressive but still within the boundaries of the game, or if it was exceptionally endangering to the person involved. Second, get in contact with an attorney or network that will hear your case for free to help you determine the nature of the case.

Buy An Authentic NFL Jersey Or A replica one

The NFL football sport is all the range. It is really popular for many people to wear replica nfl jerseys to show the loyalty of their favorite team. Whatever, these knockoff nfl jerseys are really cheap and easy to get. But the truth is that it cannot beat the original football shirt as it can last just for a short time. The authentic nfl jerseys are always recommended.

Every football fan likes buying jerseys of their favorite league teams or national teams. Whether you purchase as a gift or for yourself, you need to make sure what you buy is a good value of money. Some authentic jerseys are really expensive but with great quality and style so that is good to make the most of your money. People who have already bought replicas or knockoff jerseys but finally found they last too little. Usually men like wearing their favorite shirt often, thus it is common to see these replica shirts wear our pretty fast. On the other hand, these fake jerseys would start dissolving after a few washings, losing its fit and form.

When buying an authentic nfl jersey, you might end up owing priceless, collector's jersey. However, the fact is that many people do not know what they have bought. As there are really numerous replica nfl jerseys with really high quality and stylish look that seem like the real ones, it is really hard to tell which is authentic. At any rate, there are some nuances, indeed. While both replica and the real are embroidered with the name and number of the player, the authentic nfl jerseys have mesh sleeves but the replica nfl jerseys have both body and sleeves made of nylon mesh. Second, there is an official logo sewn on authentic nfl jerseys that may real the truth.

However, when buying nfl jerseys, as there are many stores that sell fake nfl jerseys as the authentic, you should really pay extra attention if you not buying from a reputed or well known store. If you are buying online, it is really a good idea to ask for recommendations and check for feedbacks. A replica nfl jersey might cost half money in comparison with an authentic one, but it can really last too little and fast dissolving after several washings with its fit and form lost.

To conclusion, even if the authentic nfl jerseys are really expensive, they are really worth the money. It is always a good idea to invest money in quality and style.

Build your organization like the Steelers

Build your organization like the Steelers

Build your organization like the Steelers

It can be argued that no organization in the National Football League has had more success than the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the modern era of professional football, your organizations accomplishments are measured with one metric winning the Super Bowl. Nobodys done that more than the black and gold.

Since 1970, no team has a better record than the Steelers. Not only have they won the most regular season games, but also the most playoff games, divisional titles, played in the most conference championships, and are tied for the most Super Bowl appearances. Not surprisingly, no team has sent more players to the Pro Bowl in the history of the game.

However, the Steelers are not in a big market. They dont sign top free agents. They typically draft towards the bottom end of the talent pool. Their coaches stay on board for a long time, somehow managing to continually get their message across, even after their players should have long tuned them out. Even when their top players are injured, somehow they manage to have more talent waiting in the wings. Members of the team rarely speak out against the club, and Steelers fans are among the most rabid and faithful in all of professional sports. How do they do it?

Like all great institutions, they have a success model that they do not stray from.

1. They commit to the long view.

The Rooney family has owned the Pittsburgh Steelers since its inception in 1933. Since 1969, they have had exactly 3 head coaches: Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher, and Mike Tomlin. Theyve all won the NFL Coach of the Year Award. As a point of comparison, the Washington Redskins have had 13 head coaches in that span.

They find the right guy for their system and give them the time and support to succeed. Clearly, having a consistent message has led to the players understanding exactly what is expected of them. They are not confused about what it means to represent the team, what their role is, who is in charge, and what will not be tolerated. Every team member seems to be pulling on the same side of the rope.

2. Its not about getting superstars. Its about finding players that best fit the culture.

The Steelers arent only patient with their coaches. That philosophy extends to the players as well. They dont focus on college accolades, 40-yard dash statistics, or bench press reps. What do they measure? Character. Reliability. Coachability. Do they fit the scheme? How will they fit with the other players? Eric Berry, a top draft pick a few years ago, remarked that the Steelers were the only team measuring knee size. Its that kind of focus that nets them the players they need to excel.

Once they find their targets, they give them time to develop, rather than going for quick fixes or the hot free agent players. They dont trade away draft picks for superstars. In fact, the Steelers have not gone without a first round pick since 1967. They look for potential, and they develop it better than anyone.

3. Youre opponent cant win if you score more than they do.

We all love high scoring, exciting games. However, if youre opponent cant score than you can never lose. When youre nickname becomes the Steel Curtain, its evident that defense is a priority. After all, defense wins championships in most cases.

The Steelers have been honored with 7 Defensive Player of the Year awards since 1972. Their style of play has consistently been aggressive, fast, and blitz happy. While that style of play poses some risk, it also puts a tremendous amount of pressure on their opponents which can lead to turnovers.

In 1976, the Steelers defensive front four was featured on the cover of Time Magazine, and is arguably the best defensive squad every assembled. That year, they posted five shutouts, and only gave up 28 points in their last 9 games. When you make zero mistakes, winning is a lot easier.

4. Running the ball successfully is important, but you have to throw to score.

Some of the most iconic players in Steelers history have been running backs like Franco Harris, Jerome Bettis, and Rocky Bleier. But the most honored Steelers have been their quarterbacks, Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger. Why? Because they made plays that won championships. After all, Super Bowl highlight reels rarely emphasize the three yard run up the middle that relaxed the pass rush that gave the quarterback time to make a play. They contain Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Hines Ward, and Santonio Holmes scoring touchdowns.

5. Despite external circumstances, the standard is the standard.

Injuries devastated the Steelers in 2011. However, they never used it as an excuse for poor play. Their standard is that when one player goes down, the next person in line has a duty to maintain the same level of play.

After a blow-out loss in their opening game, the media started using words like Old and Slow, Sieve-Like Offensive Line, Lost Their Edge, and Walking Wounded. The next game they blew out their opponent. And you can trace the reason why back to another time-honored clich: The Standard Is the Standard.

The translation of The Standard is simple: Injuries are no excuse. Play above the line. Play winning football.

6. Never betray your tribe.

Few teams travel better than the Steelers. No matter what stadium they play in away from Pittsburgh, you can be sure to see your share of gold Terrible Towels in the stands.

Some have said that when the steel industry collapsed in Pittsburgh, it scattered Steeler fans throughout the country who were seeking work elsewhere. Maybe so, but I think it goes deeper.

I think most of us like to think were strong. I think we like to believe that hard work, dedication, and tough mindedness will lead to success. And no team embodies that like the Steelers do.

More importantly, they consistently deliver what we expect. When we see the black helmet with the U.S. Steel logo, we expect to see hard, aggressive play. We demand that they give their best effort and lay it all on the line. Even though they dont always win, we always feel like we got our moneys worth.

When I was at Rutgers University in the early 1990s, I was talking to a former Scarlet Knight named Alcides Catanho at a local watering hole. He had been playing with the Patriots that year and I was picking his brain about what the NFL was like, and especially about a game he played that year against Pittsburgh. He said something that I never forgot nobody hits harder than the Steelers.

So, what does this all have to do with building your organization?

1. Is your leadership committed to the long view, or just next quarter? Are you making investments today in people and strategy that will pay off for years to come, or are you sacrificing future growth by jumping at quick fixes? Is your message clear?
2. How are you identifying talent? Are you only hiring people from within your industry, or just those that have the biggest rolodex? Do you have training program in place that is continuous? Are you using psychometric testing to identify potential, or are you staring at a stack of resumes? Are you giving people the tools and time to develop, or are you handing them a phonebook to call from?
3. Are you reactive? Are you resting on yesterdays laurels, or are you putting pressure on your competition with innovation? Are you losing customers or retaining them?
4. Do you have the ability to land large sales, or are you positioned as a commodity? Do you have the people and processes in place to make big splashes in the marketplace?
5. Are you making excuses? Are you blaming the economy, industry, or employees you have? Or, is your strategy built on how to capitalize on opportunities that exist?
6. Are you creating raving fans? Do your customers visit your website, read your blogs, and wait in line for your next product launch? Will you lose your customers over a nickel, or will they stay with you? When they write about you, what will they say? How are you enhancing the customer experience?

And always remember, the standard is the standard. Whats yours?

Brazilian Soccer - 4 Reasons Why Their National Team Is Better Than Yours

If you know anything about football, or soccer as it is often known in North America, you'll know that the national team to beat is Brazil. Known for its fast flowing nature, trickery and attacking style, the Brazilian squad has been terrifying oppositions in World Cup matches for decades. If you were in any doubt about the chances of your national squad beating Brazil, these 4 points should put you straight.

1) Brazilians want to win more than your team
Football in Brazil is close to a religion, and everyone from players to managers to spectators take it very, very seriously. To illustrate, three hours before an international match, you'll be out of options to deposit a cheque because all the banks close, allowing their employees to prepare for the game. Brazilians also accept nothing less than a win as a result, viewing a draw as a loss. Up against that attitude, you won't stand much of a chance on the pitch or supporting from the sidelines.

2) Brazilians have the best players in the World
The ultra-rich European leagues are widely regarded as the best in the World, and they are flooded with Brazilians; 600 players to be exact. Superstars such as Robinho, Ronaldinho and Kaka dominate the English, Italian and Spanish leagues, commanding huge salaries and advertising contracts with big name sporting brands. To crown it all, the best player in the history of soccer is a Brazilian. Pele (Also known as the slightly less memorable Edison Arantes do Nascimento) was voted number one in the 2000 FIFA "Player of the Century" poll, amongst numerous other player and fan awards. Scoring an incredible 1281 goals in 1363 games, his talent is qualified by more than just opinion.

3) The Brazilian national team is a priority
As salaries for European teams climb higher, league teams are frequently accused of prioritising "club over country", with players encouraged by their coaches to focus on international competitions such as the UEFA cup more than those of the national squad, such as the World Cup. Not so in Brazil. Brazilian players have the tendency to view competing in the higher standard of the European leagues as an opportunity to develop and refine their skills in order to stand a better chance for national selection.

4) The Brazilian team is the most successful in the World
The statistics speak for themselves; with 5 World cup wins, Brazil are the most prolific national team on the planet. They are the only team to have qualified for every single World Cup, and their dominance of Latin American football is demonstrated by their successful retention of the Copa America in 2007.

Next time you jog out onto a pitch to play against the Brazilian team (hey, it could happen!) or sit down to watch an international match, be sparing on the optimism; you'll be betting against some of the most competent and accomplished players on the planet.

Brazil 4-2-4 Formation in the 1958 World Cup

Brazil unveiled a formation with a back four at the FIFA World Cup 1958. That was a contrast to the popular 3-3-4 formation. The Brazilians moved down one player from midfield to defense and played with a 4-2-4 formation, four defenders, two midfielders and four forwards. This system contributed to Brazil's first title in the history of World Cup football (soccer).

The Brazilian system created numerical advantage both on defense and on the attack against teams that used the 3-3-4 formation or the WM system. The 4-2-4 system was totally dependent on two midfielders with great tactical and physical abilities. This formation led to an attacking approach to the game. The underlying principle of Coach Vicente Feola was to win by scoring more goals than the opponent, not by conceding fewer. The Brazilian approach to football became admired across the globe.

Brazil really had the ingredients to play this aggressive game. Two legendary wing-backs in Djalma Santos and Nilton Santos, a fanastic midfielder Didi, centre-forwards like Vava and Pele, and wingers with the class of Garrincha and Zagallo.

The Brazilian team in World Cup 1958
Goalkeeper: Gilmar

Gilmar stands out when it comes to a discussion about the greatest Brazilian goalkeeper. He was invincible in the group stage as the Brazilian's qualified for the quarter-finals without conceding a goal. Gilmar was beaten twice in both the semi-final against France (5-2) and in the FIFA World Cup Final against Sweden (5-2).

Wing-backs: Djalma Santos and Nilton Santos

Right wing-back Djalma Santos took part in four FIFA World Cups (1954, 1958, 1962 and 1966) and he was named in the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team for the first three tournaments. In other teams he would have the number 10 role but in this Brazil side he was right wing-back, the best right wing-back in the world. Left wing-back Nilton Santos was named in the FIFA World Cup 1958 All-Star Team. He took full advantage of the space the 4-2-4 formation created for the wing-backs. He was quick and skillful much like the best Brazilian wing-backs of today.

Centre-backs: Hilderaldo Bellini and Orlando Peanha

Bellini was the captain during the 1958 FIFA World Cup. Together with Orlando he formed a solid defensive line in front of goalkeeper Gilmar. They only conceded four goals in the tournament. Hilderaldo Bellini became the first Brazilian in the history of football to lift the FIFA World Cup trophy.

Midfielders: Didi and Zito

Didi played in three FIFA World Cups (1954, 1958, and 1962). He is one of the best Brazilian midfielders of all time. Didi had a superb positional sense and vision. He used his qualities to serve the stars in the attacking line. Zito was a highly organized defensive midfielder with a calming influence in a Brazilian team that was full of individualistic attacking talent.

Wingers: Garrincha and Mario Zagallo

Right-winger Garrincha is one of the best dribblers in the history of football. Even though he was born with crippled legs he never let this affect his brilliant ball skills, making some of the most beautiful moves ever on a football pitch. The winger at the opposite side was Zagallo who had the ability to combine defense and attack. Sometimes it looked like Brazil played in a 4-3-3 formation. Zagallo was not only a great player he is also one of the best managers in the history of the sport.

Centre-forwards: Vav and Pele

Vav and Pele formed one the best attacking duos in the history of the FIFA World Cup. Vava was a powerful centre-forward. He missed Brazil's opening win against Austria but he played an important part later in the tournament. Vava scored twice in the final against Sweden. His attacking partner Pele, probably the greatest player of all-time, also scored two in the 5-2 victory against the Swedes in the 1958 Final. Pel was initially not in the starting line-up but Coach Vicente Feola selected him for the final group match against Soviet. From that point on, the 17-year old was one of the stars of the tournament. He scored the winning goal in the quarter-final against Wales before scoring a hat-trick in the 5-2 semi-final win against France.

Boxing Hall of Fame History and Gift Shop

For many years, the world of sports celebrated athletes in various other competitions by inducting them into halls of fame. Baseball, basketball and football were among the most popular of these shrines, but boxing was somehow left out of the equation. Professional boxing champions have always been among the most fan-celebrated athletes in history but, until 1989, there was no permanent structure to celebrate the true legends of the sport.

The thoughts of a boxing hall of fame were first generated from a town's love for it's hometown boys who later went on to become the world's champions. In 1982, Canastota, NY residents chose to honor Carmen Basilio, one-time welterweight and middleweight champion, and his nephew Billy Backus, 1970 welterweight title holder. Residents of the city raised funds for a showcase that would celebrate their love and the achievements of these two local boxing heroes.

It was this single project that sparked the enthusiasm needed to explore the possibility of creating boxing's inaugural hall of fame and museum. In 1989, the project was completed with two dozen former boxing champions on hand. The International Boxing Hall of Fame held it's ribbon cutting ceremony on what is a major tourist attraction to this day. One year after it's creation, the first class of boxing legends were inducted. Among them, legendary boxing great, Muhammad Ali. Since that time, the International Boxing Hall of Fame has added an additional wing to the museum and an event pavilion, which sits adjacent to the hall. Each year, in early June, the International Boxing Hall of Fame holds it's annual induction ceremony to highlight the four-day celebration of the sport of boxing and it's legendary athletes.

One of the most impressive aspects of the International Boxing Hall of Fame is it's memorabilia shop, which offers a rare opportunity for autograph collectors to own some amazing items. A certificate of authenticity is issued with each purchase. Everything from autographed boxing gloves to a post, robe or speed bag is available for purchase. One of the most popular items available for sale is The Championship Glove, which sells for $195.00. A collage of autographs, which are featured on one single red Everlast glove, includes Arguello, Basilio, Buchanan, Carbajal, Chacon, Chuvalo, Corrales, Griffith, Hagler, Danny Lopez, McGuigan, Minter, Mosley, Norris, Norton, Olivares, Pryor, Leon Spinks, Starling, Stracey, Torres and Ward. If this is out of a collector's price range, single autographs can be purchased on an Everlast glove for $85.00 each. The Everlast boxing robe, which sells for $275.00, features 23 autographs and is available through the International Boxing Hall of Fame's website.

Whether you are looking for the perfect vacation getaway for the boxing fanatic or you are a collector looking to add some impressive autographs to your collection, the International Boxing Hall of Fame is definitely worth your time.

For additional information or to place an order, collectors may write to: Boxing Hall of Fame, 1 Hall of Fame Drive, Canastota, NY 13032. Or, they may call 315-697-7095 or fax 315-697-5356. The International Boxing Hall of Fame can be accessed online at ibhof.com.

Boxing For Kids

Boxing For Kids

As a sport boxing exercise doesn't come to mind foremost for the majority of parents. Many parents would not consider boxing for kids in the slightest and would have a fear for their kid coming home with black eyes and a broken nose after the first session! However, as with all sports, boxing for kids can be safe with investment in the right equipment and in a good environment. The proper gear includes approved, Olympic-style headgear to protect against concussions and a mouth guard to help keep their teeth intact. Groin protection is also a necessity. Special child-sized Everlast boxing gloves are commonplace nowadays and should have a firm, snug fit.

The risk of injury is no greater than in other popular sports or activities such as gymnastics, hockey, swimming or football. Ensuring your child's safety is about educating yourself in the sport and viewing the facilities it takes place in prior to expressing an opinion on it. With the increasingly tight Health and Safety regulations placed on all organizations regardless of size, boxing exercise should always be practiced in a safe environment which would benefit you as a parent. The benefits of placing your child in a boxing program far outweigh the risks. They also go way beyond the obvious assets of regular exercise, fitness and helping your kid to take care of themselves in this increasingly intimidating world. By taking part in boxercise kids can learn valuable boxing combinations, foot and hand speed, heavy bag workout and sparring.

Boxing for kids can be a very rewarding sport. It gives kids a sense of confidence, esteem, and, most importantly, self discipline. By submitting to a regular training schedule that's structured and supervised, kids don't just work out aggression, they learn perseverance and self-management. As with most things in life there is a clear correlation between hard work and noticeable results in your childs development (both physical and mental). It is also particularly effective for children that have behavioral problems. By giving them an outlet for their aggression, in a safe environment, and a strict schedule, through boxing exercise these kids learn the benefits of sportsmanship and hard work and begin to develop some self-worth and belief.

It's true that with boxing comes the risk of slight injury, including parents main concern - brain damage, but it's no more dangerous than other popular sports. As long as your little one has the right equipment (Everlast equipment is highly regarded in the boxing world), teachers, and environment, boxing can really help in your kid's ongoing development.

Any coach worth his salt will always put the safety and developing sportsmanship of your child first (let's face it if he didn't he wouldn't have a job!). An establishment with a good reputation and parents referrals will always be certified and insist on your child having the appropriate insurance and the proper gear before they commence their lessons. If you're still unsure as to whether to let your child partake in boxing visit a gym to reassure yourself.

Bowling Tips for the 2-4-6 Spare

Bowling Tips for the 2-4-6 Spare

Bowling Tips for the 2-4-6 Spare

The 3-6-9 spare system is the most commonly taught system, but the 2-4-6 system may be the most accurate system for picking up spares. In the 2-4-6 system the feet are not moved opposed to the 3-6-9 system. In this system the feet remain in the same place, and players must visually adjust the target. The spare system can give bowlers many advantages. Sometimes players aren't able to move their feet because the ball return may be in the way, or the player might be playing on an end-lane, which is near a wall. In these instances, moving the feet can create problems in the 3-6-9 spare system. However, using the 2-4-6 method is the best way to avoid problems, and to accurately pick up spares in all conditions.

The 2-4-6 spare system is also known as the Swedish Spare System, and is usually recommended for advanced bowlers. When using this system for picking up spares, the bowler must be able to bowl on the arrows, and able to bowl on the boards between the arrows. The starting position will remain the same, but the target will change depending on the spare that must be made. Two starting positions are used on the approach in the 2-4-6 spare system. The two starting positions in this system are the strike starting position and the 10-pin starting position. There are also two aiming targets in the 2-4-6 system; the strike aim and the 10-pin aim, used for all the spare combinations.

If a player has a strike-line (the yellow line) of 17-10, then that player can deliver the ball two more boards inside in order to knock over the next pin(2-pin for right-handed players, and 3-pin for left-handed players). A four-board shift in the target will knock over the 4-pin(6-pin for left-handed bowlers), and a six-board adjustment will knock over the 7-pin(10-pin for left-handed bowlers). The 2-4-6 spare system also works for left-handed bowlers. The left-handed players who start from the far left side of the approach are able to use the 2-4-6 system effectively. If the player is trying to pick of the 3-pin spare, then the target should be moved two boards to the right. When players are trying to knock down the six-pin, the target should be moved four boards to the right. For left-handed bowlers are trying to pick up the 10-pin spare, the target arrow should be moved six boards to the right.

All players that use the 2-4-6 system should not move their feet, if they want to pick up their spares effectively. The targets should always be moved, but the feet should remain in the same starting place each time. Players should visually target the two, four, or six boards off of the key line in order to pick up spares. Like the 3-6-9 system, players must adjust off the corner-pin line to pick up their spares on the other side of the lane. Also, like the 3-6-9 system players can adjust the movements to fit their own personal bowling style, and create the most accurate way of picking up spare.

The use of the 2-4-6 system is applicable on all lane conditions, so players don't have to worry about any problems that might arise when trying to pick up spares. Using the system can help players become more confident in there "spare-getting" abilities. The system is not as widely used as the 3-6-9 spare system, but it is one of the most popular basic spare systems. The 2-4-6 system is not simple, so it is most commonly used by professionals.

Boosting Carp Baits And Easy Ways To Make Your Dips And Soaks Irresistible!

Boosting Carp Baits

Boosting Carp Baits And Easy Ways To Make Your Dips And Soaks Irresistible!

Soaking your carp or catfish baits in special liquids to improve your catches can cost quite a bit when you are buying small pots. Another thing is that you can actually make your own bait soaks with equal if not even more effectiveness than readymade ones! So have your eyes opened; save money and catch loads more fish - read on now!

In more recent years, pellets have taken the carp and catfish and barbel fishing worlds by storm. Boilies are still of course the number one choice for big fish around the world however. There are endless creative ways to boost your readymade baits and homemade baits effectiveness. One very simple way is to crush up some of your choice (or mixed choices) of boilies, and soak the boilie crumb in hot water. This particular method ensures the bait recipe you are using equally matches the bait profile you are soaking, although this is not an essential ingredient for success and in fact your dip can be as different as you like from your bait itself.

Simply leave for a day or maybe more and stir the runny mixture so you have in effect boilies in solution. Your then simply soak your baits in this solution to boost their impacts. Its very easy and obvious! This is great for baits straight from the bag or baits that have been dehydrated.

You can use the same method or similar methods for boosting all kinds of pellets, and meat and fish baits and even fake baits for example. You have no need to even think about being afraid of over-loading with any solvent based flavours and anyway using this method is very likely to reap bigger more wary fish.

Of course you can boost your special baits dips and soaks in endless ways so that they are more bioactive, or even so they preserve your baits. There are ways to drop or raise the pH of the solutions, make them very much more palatable in terms of vitamin and mineral and amino acid contents etc; its all up to you. In the height of the warmer temperatures when carp and catfish metabolism is peaking you can obviously go for a higher oil approach; this supplying the higher energy requirements fish have at this time in particular among others.

I'd always add a very high-grade high PC liquid lecithin anyway to improve bait digestion and general bait performance in regards to oils in baits, whether bulk oils or essential oils. (Visit Carpfishingpellets for liquid lecithin plus added extras like high-grade pure liquid salmon protein, and triple-filtered Scottish salmon oil for instance, and pure betaine HCL; such things really are very effective individually or used together!)

Making homemade liquids to boost baits is a massive subject and I could write a book about it. You can use the same liquids to boost your ground baits, particles, slop mixes, pop-ups, boilies, stick mixes and almost anything. You can very seriously boost your baits with substances that trigger feeding or with substances that attract fish into your swim very highly effectively. You can use naturally-derived extracts extremely rich in natural feeding triggers to turn fish onto feeding, or even use very easily dispersed flavours to boost very open texture un-boiled baits, to seed you swims and spots, that wash out fast but leave a sediment of paste on the bottom for warier fish to home in on.

If you want an idea for just one unusual bait soak you might try an idea just off the top of my head maybe combine CC Moore Kelp Complex with their awesome Liquid Salmon and Krill extract and perhaps tailor this and customise this in any additional way you wish maybe boost it using Belachan, or Cyprivit and Feedstim XP powder, or hydrolysed poultry protein etc.

Liquid recipes can be as unusual and alternative as you like as potent and as concentrated as you like; I aim to keep an open mind when experimenting and I always seem to be finding new substances not in popular use at all in carp or catfish fishing to use in my bait soaks. As a quick tip try some of the more esoterically orientated health food and alternative herbal type websites for instance. (See below for more on this stuff!)

The range of additives, ingredients, extracts and pure substances, both natural and artificially created can all have their place in your bait dips and soaks for very powerful reasons and your fish will certainly thank you by getting hooked more often! Revealed in my unique readymade bait and homemade bait carp and catfish bait secrets ebooks is far more powerful information look up my unique website (Baitbigfish) and see my biography below for details of my ebooks deals right now!

Body Painting Henna Tattoo

Body Painting Henna Tattoo

Henna tattoos are an ancient custom in India: girls and women are body painted before ceremonies, like marriage. They painted complicated patterns on their hands and feet to symbolize their fertility.

Henna (or 'Mehndi', the Indian name) is made from the henna plant (Lawsonia Inermis). The leaves of the plant are dried and ground. The powder gets mixed with water and you get a sort of green-brownish mud. If you put that mud on your skin, let it harden, and then peel it off, you will notice it has left an orange color.

You can get your henna at an eastern shop or a 'souk' in many different colors. There's orange, mahogany, brown and black. The orange one is the traditional henna. The black henna is synthetic. It contains PDD (P-phenylenediamene) and can cause allergic reactions. Even if it doesn't cause irritations, it's still unhealthy. Moreover, in the past, black henna at your wedding was considered a disgrace.

Henna Recipe

With one pack of henna, you'll have enough to body paint the entire football team. Put the henna in a bowl and gently pour some lemon juice and boiling water in the bowl. Don't use too much water, the mud has to resemble the thickness of sate sauce. The purpose of the lemon juice is to help the color hold better on your skin.

Your skin should be clean, dry and not fat. If you want to color your nails too, they shouldn't have nail polish on them. Make sure you really want this, because your nails will be orange for about 2 months. It doesn't come off! When the henna is cold, you can get to painting.

If you want to paint your foot soles, which is a traditional custom in Marokko, make sure you have a pillow of some kind to keep your feet off the floor, before you know it, the henna mud is everywhere! You can apply the henna with all sorts of instruments, what works best is a syringe (without the needle of course).

Symmetric and geometric shapes work best. Don't make the lines too thin, the color won't come on to your skin very well. The bigger the surface, the brighter the color will be.
Now: the annoying part: Waiting...

Let the henna dry in the sun, the warmth of the sun will get your color deeper into your skin. You can also use a hairdryer.

If you make a mistake in the picture your painting: ACT QUICKLY! If you wipe it off too late, the henna will leave a red spot.

After a while, the henna will start to burst. Don't peel it off yet! The henna has to stay on for at least two hours. Then you can start removing the crusts of mud.

DON'T remove the henna with water! Just scrape the crusts of your skin, you can do this with a bold knife. Don't let your body painting get in touch with water for the first couple of hours. Right after you scraped off all the crusts, rub your skin in with olive oil. It will make the color brighter and help keep the color on as long as possible. Your henna painting will survive for about a month or so.

Also nice to know: Swimming, body peeling, scrubbing your back, and bodyscrub products will make the henna tattoo deteriorate faster.

Taking a cue from Will Rogers, Bob Hope never met a holiday he didnt like. Be it Easter, Thanksgiving, Valentines, Groundhog Day or the Ides of March, a holiday theme was always as welcome around the production office as a hot buttered rum in a winter snowstorm.

Christmas, of course, was Hopes annual theme champ even during peacetime when his military fatigues were folded away in the cedar chest awaiting the next outbreak of hostilities. Even in the years that he entertained troops overseas, he produced a domestic Christmas special as well and aired the military shows in January.

The Christmas specials had become perennial ratings bonanzas that left high Neilsens in Hopes stocking year after year. Even beyond that, they were televisions longest sustaining Yuletide specials, continuing well after Andy Williams, Glen Campbell and Perry Como had packed away the prop fireplace and the flocked Douglas fir.

Whatever mysterious combination of elements made Americans take a break from their last-minute shopping to tune in the mid-December offering, Hope wasnt about to tinker with it; the Christmas show segments were as cast-in-stone as the Ten Commandments and the format was as predictable as the story of the Nativity itself.

Every Yuletide special was made up of these five elements:

Holiday monologue Associated Press All-America Football Team Seasonal sketch Rose Bowl Queen and Court Silver Bells duet

Each December, our rhyming dictionaries saw yeoman duty as we struggled to give the headline of the day a "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" spin. Be it Ollie North or a Cabbage Patch doll (strangely similar in many respects), we somehow managed to capture them in a couplet as this one in 1988:

"Its Christmas time once again But have fun while you can We just got word that Ollie North Sold Donner and Blitzen to Iran"

Or this 1983 entry:

"Its Christmas time around the world A season thats merry to all But this would be the best one yet If I could just find a Cabbage Patch doll"

Next in order came reminders of how the holidays were being celebrated in Southern California, with particular emphasis on the tract housing adjoining Rodeo Drive:

"They try to have a traditional Christmas in Beverly Hills, but it isnt easy. Yesterday, I saw Santa behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce being pulled by eight Japanese gardeners." (1978)

Then wed make our mandatory stop on Hollywood Boulevard:

"The fellas celebrate Christmas a little different. Down there, they decorate each other." (1985)

Though Santa wasnt due to arrive for another week or two, we had the welcome mat out for him:

"Were having a typical Hollywood Christmas. Yesterday, Larry Flynt announced that he has secret tapes of Santa doing weird things with the elves. (1983)

During the Holiday Season, Hope's writers were not unlike elves, battling a deadline to meet our quota of gift-wrapped shopping jokes:

"A big seller this year is the Baby Tears doll. I asked the sales clerk, What makes it cry? And she said, Nothing, but when I tell you the price, you will. (1981)

"And with all the crowds this year, Ive never seen the sales people so nasty. I saw one floorwalker who got rid of his carnation and was wearing a Venus fly trap. (1978)

Each year, the Associated Press sports writers voted for their college dream team, and Hope would fly the winners to Burbank at considerable expense from all over the country.

Each player would trot out in full uniform and announce his name, college, and position. Then Hope would deliver a joke befitting the guys size, speed, kicking or passing ability:

PLAYER: Dee Hardison, University of North Carolina, defensive tackle.

HOPE: At school, they call Dee Peanut. Thats because when he gets through with you, youre shelled, salted and stuffed into a jar of Skippy.

Next, Hope would interview the Pasadena Rose Queen (NBC televised the Rose Bowl Game each New Years Day) who annually showed up on stage with her entire eight-member court, girls chosen from tony high schools in Pasadena or La Canada.

After covering her love of horses, dream of becoming a brain surgeon, or her collection of porcelain elephants, we never failed to have the Tiara-ed-one play straight to Hopes self-deprecating AARP-ster in an exchange like this:

QUEEN: Gee, Mr. Hope, you look so young for your age. How do you do it?

HOPE: Well, I eat well, get plenty of exercise and I have a makeup man who has a summer home in Lourdes.

Next up would be a Christmas-themed sketch like the one in our 1977 special in which Hope as "Barf Vader" has kidnapped Santa and "Luke Sleepwalker" (Perry Como) and "Princess Hialeah" (Olivia Newton-John) attempt a rescue.

The bit culminated with Mark Hamill, the actor who played the real Luke Skywalker, arresting the entire cast for desecrating a marvelous movie.

Hope had introduced Silver Bells, the Jay Livingston and Ray Evans classic, in the movie "The Lemon Drop Kid" and he sang it on every Christmas special in a different setting with duet mates ranging from Olivia Newton-John, Katherine Crosby, Loretta Swit, Bonnie Franklin and Melissa Manchester to Winona Judd, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Marie Osmond and whenever the featured female guest was tone deaf his wife, Dolores.

This holiday format -- virtually unchanged from year-to-year -- held Hope in good stead for over forty TV seasons, and despite the onset of his declining health in the early nineties, NBC continued airing some sort of Hope Christmas special until 1994 when he took down the holly and the mistletoe for the final time, leaving no doubt that he had become an integral part of Christmas for millions of Americans.

Big Match Preview The Manchester Derby

Mark your calendars for one of the biggest matches of the Premier League season. Manchester United play host to the reigning English champions at Old Trafford on Sunday. In this Manchester derby, we can expect a lot of sparks as both these teams are competing to stay in the top four.

Manchester City were title contenders a few weeks ago, but they have struggled quite a lot in the last few games. After losing six of their last twelve fixtures, the Citizens are in danger of slumping out of the top four. After the weekends loss to the Eagles at Selhurst Park, City are now fourth on the league table, seven ahead of the fifth place Liverpool.

On the other hand, Louis van Gaals Manchester United is in scintillating form. The Red Devils have won five fixtures in a row after the loss to Swansea City. Spurs and Brendan Rodgers Liverpool have been the victims of newly revived Manchester United. United are still mathematically contenders for the EPL title, but a top four finish would be a realistic target for the Dutch manager. The momentum is with the Reds as they take on Pellegrinis men on Sunday. If United wins this fixture, it will be a huge step in their attempt to get back to Europe.

In a recent interview, LVG stated that his club has improved since the loss at the Etihad in November. Man United have certainly become hard to beat and their form at Old Trafford is quite impressive.

"It was another Manchester United [last November], I believe," Van Gaal told reporters. "That was more in the start of the process and now we are in the end of the process.

"Now we have developed the team. I think also the confidence of our players is very high at the moment. Our performances show that, so its not the same Manchester United."

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany believes that the derby couldnt have come at a better time.

"A derby is a derby," said Kompany. "It doesnt matter what place you are in the league, its a derby. If anything, its a good moment to go into a derby. I guess the momentum is a little bit with our neighbours at the moment, but its the perfect place for us to go and try to rectify what weve had."

Kompany is already also looking to next season. "My only concern is we get back to our best form," he said. "I think its our general form that we have to improve. Ive learnt from the past seasons as well that finishing a season strongly can have an impact on your next season as well. In some funny way, it wasnt even a bad game [against Palace].

"We are demanding with ourselves because we have to win, but you guys saw it. Did they have a shot on goal except for set-pieces? They are definitely a solid team. They are definitely a team who knows how to defend. They had a game plan so credit to them but, for us, it wasnt a bad game in comparison with other games that we might have lost. It has a bit of a different feel to it maybe than the result at Burnley. But a team like us needs results."

According to Bet365, Manchester United are 6/4 to pick up all three points, while they are offering 23/10 in case of a draw. A City win is 15/8.
